Really? Tell that to my pekin who a few years ago decided all on his own to take off and disappear into the wild blue yonder never to be seen again.Yeah, no pekins can't fly. Don't waste your time trying to teach him. If you ever have a bird that can grow up to fly it will not need any teaching either.
Predator possibly got him...Really? Tell that to my pekin who a few years ago decided all on his own to take off and disappear into the wild blue yonder never to be seen again.![]()
Pekins are are standard/heavy breed of duck so they can’t fly. Due to there tiny wings and large heavy body. Also, it is most likely a better idea not to teach your ducks to fly, as flying can attract predators.First of all he is a pekin but lately he refuses to eat and weighs around 2 kilos.
Secondly i've been wanting to teach him to fly because i feel its a natural behaviour every duck should know. But i dont know whether or not i should teach him.
Im feeding him a mix of seeds, commercial duck food and a variety of fruits and veggies in an elongated ceramic plant pot i bought specifically for him (i clean it every day)Hello...Please reply about its diet and how your feeding him..
He does eat but just barely atleast a couple ''bites'' of feed a day,eve even resorted to hand feeding him with a bit of success. But he isn’t eating at all?
