Shouting out again for Lacey!

No not on the outside but it really is as if there's a cake of poop stopping other poop from being released...for a while she had diharrea and a really very messy bum, so for her to now have the almost opposite (although still messy) is very confusing ! We'll continue to rid of the rest of poo, I've just been using Epsom salts but should I use something more antibacterial to try and take the poop off? It definitely seems like constipation but as her symptoms were different before, the constipation could have been due to something else perhaps?
Gunna be hard to take a poop sample from a hen with not a lot of poop!

If you can see a hard bit of poop but only liquid can get around it you need to work on that right now. Not in the morning. Especially since you saw some blood. You don't want her to rupture something internally.

Slightly worried to do this now as it's 9pm and we live in a farmhouse and her very large dog crate is in the kitchen, where the fire is not...would it really be dangerous to wait until the morning?!

I personally would not wait u til morning but I've never had to deal with this so I'm not sure if its dangerous or not. I know chickens poop while they sleep so I feel it would need to be taken care of asap. But hopefully someone more experienced with constipation can help.

I'm sorry but I would not wait based on the pictures you posted. I would first try holding a warm soggy paper towel or wash cloth to it first. Then start picking away at it. I know it's not a fun night time chore.

But if she is blocked and dies over night you will feel awful.

x2. I'd hate for you to wake up and she was dead.
