Show me your bielefelder crosses.

I hope you’re right about Stanley being a pullet. Aside from the silver color, are there any other reasons you think it’s a pullet? I have been confident Stanley was a cockerel until recently when his comb didn’t redden. But the other cockerel, Solo, is much more dominant so I was thinking Stanley would just redden later.

Here is Stanley about 2 weeks ago. He’s the one to the left (rose type comb) in both photos. You can see how his comb was more similar in redness to Solo’s.
I think she’s a pullet because I see no signs that she’s a cockerel, not because of the silver color

Oh, I see.

If Stanley is a girl, does that mean the father is the silver rooster? Where’s if Stanley is male, the father could be either rooster?

The silver color throws me. I didn’t expect a silver chick from a Biele x black hen cross, but Solo has barring so his dad has to be the Biele. Perhaps the silver is from his SLW grandma. The mom is solid black with the tiniest bit of copper in the hackles. No silver at all.

A male could get the silver gene from their mother, but if the mother is gold the father has to be the one with the gene. Looking back, Solo’s parentage doesn’t really make sense either, can you post pictures of the possible fathers? His barring is also very minimal, which is not what you usually see in a 1st generation cross

Solo’s mom is Giblet, a BCM x RIR. So I don’t think there would be any silver gene.

Dad has to be Hans the Bielefelder due to the barring. I don’t have any other barred birds who could be parents. (I have biele hens but none were laying at the time of this hatch and their eggs are pretty distinct)

The other rooster at the time was Citronella, this silver mix-

It’s always possible there were mix ups during hatch, but I’m fairly confident in the hens. And Stanley obviously has to come from a rose combed bird. And Solo resembles his mom & grandma in body shape, comb style, and personality. I have a big flock but can tell you what other layers I have.
