Anyone ever make simple steps (2 high) from pavers?

Sorry, no personal experience in making steps from pavers. Maybe look on YouTube for ideas?

What kind of projects do you have in mind?

At this time, I think I have more potential pallet projects on my list than energy to build them. Seems like there is never enough pallets and, yet, still more pallets in the backyard than I can work with at this time.

Dear Wife says I cannot get anymore pallets until I work down my stock pile. I have about 100 pallets ready to use...

I have been working down those pallets this past winter by building about eight new raised beds. I don't pick up many "normal" pallets anymore due to my stash at home, but if I find some exceptionally interesting pallet, I will toss it into the back of the old Ford Explorer on the way home.

For example, I look for pallets that are put together with those Torx T25 screws or other reusable hardware, or maybe like a pallet I recently found that was made up of entirely good 2X4's. If I find a pallet with a good solid 3/4 inch plywood top, I will take that too.

For one, I'd like to build a makeshift storage shed so I can keep the chicken feed, pine shaving bales, and other essentials so that I don't have to keep dragging them to the coop area on a daily basis. I also need to have it weather tight so I can install a solar panel system to power up surveillance cameras and lights to the area.

Secondly, I need to enlarge the pallet fencing around the coops, since I am adding more coops as I add more to the flock. Plus I'll need to build a separate garden area that'll need fencing to keep out the deers. And the list goes on...

Haha...I have access to unlimited free pallets from the industries around my work area. I just need to have the chance and the health to pick them up. Right now I am dealing with a left hand healing from a gunshot wound and a right hand that I sprained a week ago. The wife is on my butt to get me to clear up the pile that I currently have on hand prior to me getting some more.

Sounds like a lot of great projects coming soon. I hope you share your experience with us and upload some pictures. I know I get lots of inspiration from others when they post pictures of their projects.

As for me, I have been busy trying to get everything planted in my new pallet wood raised beds. Most of my pallet projects have been related to my gardening efforts. I share what I can, but I know some of my posts might seem repetitive to those who follow this thread. Still, I know new people might only be jumping in at the back end of this thread and maybe it is just the first time for them.

So, I encourage everyone to post what they can even if it might have been mentioned before by them or others. We all love hearing what other people are doing. Thanks.

Yep. My brother and I put in the old wooden dock a few weeks ago. Been using the same wood dock for 35 years. Unfortunately, it seems to get just a bit heavier each year. This year, I twisted my back and have been taking aspirin every day for the past 2 weeks. I'm slowly getting better, but at my age, everything seems to take longer to heal.

Mine too. I won't say she is wrong - at least to her face - but I have agreed not to pick up as many pallets as I did when I was first building up my stash. Now, I really look for exceptional pallets that are either in excellent condition or offer some unique hardware (Torx head screws, lag bolts, etc...) or wood that you don't normally get on most pallets (like solid 3/4 inch plywood tops or extra long pallets with 6 of 8 foot 2X4's).

Instant Pallet Wood Worktable Using Sawhorses

@Knobby reminded me of why I pick up pallets with solid plywood tops. I found this pallet a few months ago...

That has some great 3/4 inch plywood that is in really good shape. What I am using it for is to simply take out some sawhorses and put it on top of them to make a pallet wood sawhorse table to work on.

It's really worked out great for me. My folding sawhorses in the garage fold up into almost taking up no room to store, and this pallet is easily stored vertically along a wall. Since I also use my garage to store my vehicles in the winter, I need to get my car back into the stall when I am done working on my other projects.

It takes me only a minute or two to setup up this pallet on the sawhorses and I have a nice ~4X4 foot flat top work area. Plus, I can easily put on all kinds of clamps around the pallet and secure my working wood in place. And, of course, I can break everything down and put is back in storage in no time to make room for my car.

I do have other workbenches that are bigger, stronger, heavier, etc... but none of them fold up and store away. I had to put some of my other work benches into storage this past winter because they took up too much room in the garage and I could not get my car in the stall. Anyways, the solid plywood pallet top temporary sawhorse table was the perfect solution to my needs this past winter.
