Show me your poop boards!

Coop also has two south facing windows (2' x 3') that tilt in leaving a 4" air gap at the top plus the open chicken door. Floor opening, windows and chicken door are open 24 x 7 x 52. Coop has no supplemental heat nor supplemental lighting. Coop also has a roof ridge vent. I live in a woods that helps block strong winds.

I have eight Golden Buffs. This is their first winter and are laying 6 to 8 eggs daily. The other night temperatures got down to -14 Fahrenheit and several days at 0. Chicken's continued their 6 to 8 eggs average. During the day they were active in their run pecking and exploring as normal chickens do. One chicken does have a white edge to her comb, I suspect frostbite.

Chickens kicked the floor bedding out faster then I can replace it so I stop.

While I'm all about the poop boards, I must say that is a very nice coop overall.

What I have is a 2x4 with gutters screwed on each side. Works great. I can scrape it easily into a bucket.

I never seen a setup like this. Clever. I am not sure my larger breeds would keep it in the gutter. They may stick or past them. Do you have any larger birds that user this? (i.e.: brahmas or orpingtons)

I have a buff orpington but my asian black is bigger. Also have RIR and some others. Yes, the gutters are not quite wide enuf to catch it all but gets most of it. As you can see I have a sheet underneath that catches the 'overflow' which isn't nearly as much as what gets in the gutters. Since you have larger birds, you will have to build something similar which should be pretty easy. I have to say my setup isn't original to me. I saw someone's setup that had the gutter on one side and let the rest fall on the floor.

How wide are the gutters at the top....4" or 6" or..?

The inside diameter at the top is 4".
I wish they were wider.
I wonder if there are commercial/industrial gutters that are wider.
But this works well for me.
I do wish they were wide enuf to use a cat litter scoop.
Many on here been able to build very good setups.
One thing about this is that it is lightweight, easy for me to maneuver and was easy enuf for me to build with my limited skills.
