I like your design. Is the quail smart enough to laying egg and get to roost in the coop at night? If not, you may end up craw inside to collect egg every day which is not fun.

Great suggestion! Would I need an edge if I wrap the flooring around to the bottom and just scrape the crap off? These would be very light weight and could even hose off occasionally.

My friend is now using the ground quail pen and I opted for the raised one I displayed earlier. Although she says the quail do go up the ladder that she modified, they do lay right on the ground. Anyone ever trained all the hens to lay in a specific area? My recent, (last week) and first flock consists of 13 coturnix that are only 4 weeks old.

JUST Finished it, need to paint, but its basically ready 6'x2' with a 2' front and 18'' rear

i think i'm gonna cut a hole on the right side wall and put a small door there so i can get in
