20 ft up a tree trying to get to a stag to get his leg band off.

Got the stag. It's a little harder climbing back down with a bird in one hand
That's a great system. The tree they were in though was more of a sapling. I'd never been able to get a board snaked up to where he was with all the little branches. I was using an 18ft decoy retriever but he kept just going around the tree to another branch. Wasn't sure the tree was gonna hold me lolI have a 18' pole that collapses down to 4', it's a big beefy pole used for pulling wire above the ceiling or in attics. It's called a Grabbit pole, anyway, I taped a 8" piece of a 2x2 board on the end of it. At night when they're on their roost you can extend it up to the bird's breast and they'll step on to it, then just start collapsing it down and take the bird off his new roost. Very simple
it's only a 8 inch piece of a 2x2 taped to the end of it, you don't really need that much, 5 or 6 inches will work. That's a great system. The tree they were in though was more of a sapling. Oh ok. Think I may make one and try it out. It's gonna get old climbing up after them.it's only a 8 inch piece of a 2x2 taped to the end of it, you don't really need that much, 5 or 6 inches will work.
