I Associate the previous breakdown of a birds stance with watching water boil, grass grow etc.. boring lol

And fishing is not all that fun when you get paid to do it. I am sitting in closed lab near a bunch of Rainbow Trout, Bluegill and Black Crappie. Fun to feed, breed and measure but I catch them with nets and tractors which simply ain't too fun.

Look at tail and hackle posture in addition to eyes. Second bird could be in transition between one angle and another or he is already getting ready to bow down and kick your ***.

Hell, second bird is even showing you cotton.
oh this one, definitely wanting to kick my ***. I understand him perfectly

Birds that are displaying at the observer are given higher marks than those that do not. Increases odds a given bird is going to get into breeding pen.
Curious as to why you want a bird to display to you? Are you looking for the confident male?

That straight comb stag is the last one I got Lmljsl and if he's like his brother was he'll be a contender. I also have his parents so I'll definitely be breeding them up in the spring

I edited more than I should so will clarify. I do not want him to display to me. Displaying to me is a signal giving by a man-fighter. If man-fighting is the default interaction without something I have done to promote, then off with his head. What I think is going on is that many fanciers of games take into account looks in a way that is impacted by the bird' s behavior. A displaying bird is prettier. It is hard to separate looks in the process to select breeders. I have seen time and time again where the observer treats the aggression directed at him / her as gameness.
