It's only a rescue if somebody rappelled down into a hot lz under rpg and small arms fire with the occasional mortar round going off all around. I bet that's exactly what went down

I don't think it's his earlobe, but both are like that so I could be wrong. Just doesn't look like any I've seen before. I called him a rescue because the previous owner gave two roos away to my neighbor. They met at the a store in a nearby town so for all we know this guy spent his entire life in a pen. He didn't roost last night on the limb I have in that little pen. He just sat inside the brood box instead, so I'm guessing he's been living in tight quarters without a place to roost. His size, body and color make me think he's mixed, 1/2 game roo + 1/2 dominicker hen. He seems to be pretty young but he's slightly bigger than my red.

Can't tell from the pics but if it's just the earlobes they are probably just white. You can easily tell by looking at him to see if the skin is white or he has fungus on him. It's not hard.
By the way he looks like he was well cared for and fed. Hardly a rescue.

Oh yeah, he looks fine. I just call it a "rescue" no matter where I get them, since they're getting a complete lifestyle upgrade when they come to live with me in Happy Valley.

The white on his lobes isn't solid & circular like I see in a lot of Spanish & Mediterranean breeds. It looks like the frosted side of mini-wheat cereal.

look at his spurs. He ain't that young

I figured he was maybe two years old at the most. He seems a little goofy and unsure of himself, which is why I thought he may not have ever free ranged, but it could just be the dumb dominicker side if he's mixed.

Looks to be in good health barely a feather out of place. The term for acquisition really depends on which Side the fence you're on. Some call it rescuing while others would call it stealing

Under what conditions was he living in?

Why is your place so much better?

I have no idea what previous conditions were. My neighbor said the the guy said they were in a pen together & that's about all the info we got. I only use the word "rescue" sarcastically & my property is better just because, duh.

So he has an equal chance of being rescued from bad conditions or being split up from his penmates where he could have been happy and now he's wondering if he will ever see his friends again cause of a human's opinion.
