oh one of your white hens

pretty simple huh.. She is mixed breed obviously. White genes came from Spanish game hens several years ago... bred to hatch, leiper and grey to achieve my White Russians

I wouldnt want to trim the bottom beak. but I am not an expert on this...

I have one with top beak broken and it looks weird but he eats and drinks fine. Been a while and still not back to normal.. dont know that it ever will

birds I've had that busted their beaks got culled. I've never seen them grow back at all

In my experience it depends on how far back it is broken. Too far and they do not grow back. I wouldn't trim the bottom one. If the back one grows back, they generally even up again over time.

Side note. I am note sure how far back is too far to regrow. If memory serves me, commercially they "debeaked" or trimmed pullet's beaks just before going into the cage house. I think the rule of thumb was about a nickle's width in front of the nostril. Most of these did not grow back. Now, I think they generally do it as chicks.
