I have not purchased any birds or eggs off of eBay, but it is fun to see what is out there.

I would not be surprised if some birds on ebay are worth more than crap. Sellers may not know what they have and somehow got decent bird(s).

All I know is I sure as h*ll wouldn't buy eggs from someone who puts up a pic of a bird that looks like he's been rode hard and put away wet. Presentation goes along way here I would think. Maybe not.

looks to me like people's trying to cash in. It's mostly young birds shown and I'd assume that's where the eggs come from. Year olds

Anybody else exclusively use hens to hatch? To the point that u don't own an incubator? Obviously I prefer hens but will say you're at their mercy in the beginning of the season trying to time stuff but I still prefer them doing the work and they seem to enjoy it. And for some reason it seems mother nature is better at that stuff than I am lol

I am down to three incubators, but prefer to hatch under hens. I haven't used the incubators in a while. The hens do a nice job and I really like how the hen raised birds turn out.

Almost exclusively hen-hatched and reared here. I have no doubts about differences in quality of results. Even at hatch, the incubator hatch rate is lower and deformities occur which seldom evident with hen-hatched. Time invested in hen-hatched generally lower as no need to check incubator function twice daily.

Just let my brother go with the following: 1 hen (spurred), 1 cock, 2 bullstags, and two pullets (one spurred). He left happy and impressed with what was left.

Does everyone have their best hens laying? Whether it's added light, added protein, crushed Cayenne peppers, or other tricks. I wish everyone a successful spring.
