Fence and dogs back on line. Fox has not come back since. I will reach out to fox this weekend beyond where dogs hold territory. Fox does probe almost every night sometime around midnight. Hen lost met fox half way on that deal.

I spent all weekend running around chasing raccoons. 4 am on sat, then again around midnight. They haven't been back since either. Weird too since it was 15 degrees when they were out and about. Been warm since and no sign of them.

I might do that.

Been going out every 15 minutes or so to shine field with spot light. Virtually everywhere beam is directed I can see rabbits. Can even see most roosting birds except for those in back side of barn. When fox visits, it gets to edge of what I can see with light where it goes after rabbits and other critters. Then somehow dogs know it is there and push it out. Rabbits harder to find once you get past where dogs can detect fox.

Had an English Shepard that would kill a coon on the ground or tree them and hold them until morning.

My first one came from this guys Dad, https://enid.craigslist.org/grd/6031334629.html I have one from him now that looks like the dark one in the picture.

1/19 twist 1/16 cable snare. Imo best snare fox, extremely fast closing. A little risky if you catch a raccoon since if they get their hands under it they'll chew through it in no time. Or 5/64 cable but in 7x7 twist. Can buy em pre made for relatively cheap already loaded. I used to make them but haven't in awhile.

Snares are easy to use once you get the hang of where to set them. The main thing his having the confidence to set em and trust you put them in a good spot.
That being said I was taught by one of the best trappers in the country.

I have yet to use a snare. Neighbors have a yorky that sometimes some over into same area fox messes around.

If I can get neighbor to keep dog in for a couple nights I will give snare a try.

Crappy Oklahoma trapping laws won't let us use snares or conibers, beingn ext to public hunting ground it's best for me to stay at least close to legal.

Yeah snares and dogs don't mix well. Believe me I know.
