what's your humidity run? Must have some nice positive pressure ventilation with that fan lol![]()
I have 26 eggs hatching in the Brinsea Ovation, I like everything about it so far except the water channels are to shallow. It's recommended to use one channel for the first 18 days, without a auto water pump you have to refill the channel every 36 to 40 hrs whereas the octagons you can refill every 48 hrs without running out of water. Also the Ovation has a huge fan, it uses the same fan as a small cabinet bator.
Very nice Flypen. I am not really familiar with the units other than pictures, but do you ever put anything under the eggs for hatching? Growing up we used a material called crinoline in the hatching trays. It was very cheap and a fibrous material. I haven't seen it in years, so now I use nylon window screen. It makes clean up a little easier and gives the chicks some traction.

Sometimes I'll use the rubber stuff you put in drawers so nothing slides around. No idea what it's called.Very nice Flypen. They seem like very good incubators. No sir, all of the Brinsea units I have are designed to hatch in the tray or the floor. The octagon trays have a mesh design, I've been monitoring the Ovation bator, so far there's no problems with traction being a problem for them.
