i only recently found out that chicks can learn to use a variety of waterers not just the usual bucket you flip over

@SOHC-FTW I have had weird incidents of beat up roosters that should have won... but without being there we have no way of knowing what happened.

If you think he is a keeper than keep him. I would and have. You know your birds the better than anyone on here.

i agree with this entirely theres no way to know exactly what happened other free ranging birds couldve been in on it but regardless roosterhavoc is correct in that this shouldnt have happened and i agree that some things should probably change with your setup to keep this from happening again but we all know that havoc holds his birds at a way higher standard than any of us and might take it a little personally when we dont do the same

Yep. They don't need much encouragement either. Soon as one figures it out the rest are good to go.

I won't say anymore about allowing a free range rooster to mess with penned birds.
I don't keep my birds any better than anyone else. I thought the point of raising gamefowl was to maintain their gameness. Otherwise what is the point? If you want to allow birds to wander all over the place and don't care about gameness why not just keep other breeds. Plenty of folks have spent many years doing their best to maintain the birds some of you are so hellbent on ruining. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have them today. I can't figure out why some can't grasp this concept.

Bad husbandry to have "games" and anything male (chicken) freeranging. Now the stag is in or was in a situation that should never have presented itself

Not sure about the Moscato... They I jsut get cheap Cabernet from them
