f**k yeah!
I had to go put my waders on again after this.I breed the best fowl I can and gameness has never been an issue. Proof is in observation and feedback from (repeat) buyers.
Perhaps I select good birds that aren't complete idiots. Good gamefowl breeder would know that haphazardly smashing face and feet into something isnt a way to win. Timing and brains also play a big role (among other things)...
I've had pens blow over that were staked down. Combination of rain and 60-70 mph winds. I lost a good 3yr old cock a few months ago, he also managed to get another stag to destroy his feet in the process. Sh*t happens. It will probably happen again cause we all make mistakes. I wasn't trying to be a jack*ss. Some advice is worth listening too though. Just whatever you do don't listen to shubin cause he don't know what the h*ll he's doing lolI do my best with my birds I work 5:30-5 and try to let my youngn's help which is why it may have happened. I don't know what happen but I did tend to him today after work he was so bloody his beek scabed over I had to cut that open and took a damp rag to open his eyes. I didn't mess with him till this evening to keep him calm.
I think something spooked him animal wise and he got stuck and the other just tried to finish him off while he was stuck. I did however find that it is likely he got stuck his heal toe is got a cut that goes halfway through and scabed over. I am not culling him at this time, I'll do my best to make sure he's gameness is on par once healed. Appreciated the opinions and advice fellas and I'm sure I'll learn new things everyday if I don't then theirs no point in it.
