Hey sdm, finally picked up a new fly rod today. Only took from 9 am til 5pm. Drove all over the state and into Delaware just to find the right rod and fly line. As it turns out fly fishing isn't all that popular. Who knew?
Got a 10wt which is a fairly big rod. Gonna try my luck with stripers and bluefish on the coast. 5 yr old son has also moved up to to a regular spinning reel from a spin cast, says he wants to catch a shark ( which is doable) He'll probably catch more than me. Lol

Good deal he Prolly will just keep him tethered

Did you catch it?
I had 3 - count them 3!! of them in the backyard last week LOL

And @roosterhavoc nice mangy fox:) I'll send some your way - female had 3 kits with her the other day - so got plenty to go around.

In the end, no effort to catch. Kids were already too eafer to help and they do not need to be getting into that yet. We have a lot of Copperheads and even Bull Snakes that can cause kids a lot of ouch. Normally, the low number of broods this year easy enough to protect by keeping them in rabbit pens on plastic barrels snake can not climb. The snakes do eat lots of mice as do the Coopers Hawk that comes in but they are not putting a dent in mice population. That controlling mice will involve me making feed less accessible and also removing nesting habitat.

4-6-800.00 a trip I'll deal with the stress
No kidding. You should see the prices up here. Off shore stuff, tuna, stripers, and whatever else those guys catch. Wow. Then again boats, fuel, rods, etc ain't cheap.
You ever heard of tackle direct? They are based here. I was looking around in there yesterday. They had squid lures or something like it the size of my son. Lol.

We've always had a lot of black and king snakes here. Don't want to jinx it, but have not seen copperheads on any of the property, but they are supposed to be around.

I have young ones this year, so moved the snakes, usually I don't bother - the adults pay them no mind. There's plenty of mice in the field so hopefully they will stay down there for a while.

Fun thing... Redtailed Hawk sits on edge of field/garden waiting and watching when we bushhog. He waits for mice to run out and swoops around tractor, catch, eat, goes at it again.:) He (she?) is beautiful.
