Well I don't know what they are. Lol. They could be anything. But I'm really not interested in breeding him so much. He's my daughters pet. Just thought he'd enjoy being in a bigger pen with more ladies.

I'm not a fan of mixing gamefowl with layers. There are plenty of breeds of gamefowl for crossing on each other. Mixing them with layers is how people down the road end up getting a hold of birds that look like gamefowl but have the heart and ability of an EE. Plenty of quit in them.
There are quite a few lean breeds of layers. Andulusians are pretty good and relatively smart.

The bad part is, most of the lean bodied egg layers you can get your hands on won't go broody. I was also wanting them as a replacement for the silkies as electricity free incubators. I won't be selling them to anyone. I do own a crock pot. Lol. I usually don't fully trust what anyone tells me when they are selling something. I have a lot of supposed to bes. Hahaha.

Got a turkey vulture hanging around here on my roof. I keep looking for something dead but I just realized she's got a nest in the woods 30 yds or so from my house with a bunch of mini vultures bouncing around in there. Pretty cool to see em
Anyway.

Of the year I've had the EEs, this is my first time having one go broody. Thought I was going to have to buy an incubator to hatch any of the babies out. I like the broodiness and chick rearing that comes from the game side. My white ee that was the mother to my mix, a silkie hatched that egg. She's a few years old and has never gone broody and probably never will.

gamefowl are better anyway stick with them and you'll be happier. Lol. You would just have to separate roosters and a handful of hens. Most will just run off the inferior laying hens but the occasional game hen might have to be penned too.
