@flypen at this point it probably won't matter what I put on. I'm having a little bit of a hard time catching this fox. It may be a gray and not a red. I flat out ain't as good at catching them.

I know you're better at trapping than I, back in the 70s and 80s I did my share of walking the miles running traps. A grey will stick his nose in a lot of places. I used fox urine, my grandfather would catch a fox and or a bobcat and stick it in a live trap for a few days just to collect the urine.

Yes sir. Lures and urines are used with footholds. Not "allowed" to use them here. Snares it's the opposite. No scent. Just track the animal and set snares. Takes quite awhile to get good at. I'm still learning plenty especially from a fox like this one I'm after now.
What's exhausting is trapping beavers. I catch em sometimes a mile or more from the truck. The biggest are always the furthest away. Sometimes I'll rough skin them out there but most times they're frozen stiff and that don't go so well.
I ain't much better at anything I'm sure and if I am it's cause I'm too dumb to quit doing it all. I just like being out in the woods. Nice and peaceful, see tons of stuff you wouldn't normally see just hunting.
