Not 90 seconds from when I heard cock squall before dog was there. Red Fox then flushed with six feet of me as Lucy pushed it through high rag weeds right in center of area I last saw cock. Cock had as much a role in in his demise as did the fox.

havoc we need to start talking more about snares. It is hunting rabbits in heavy bush with comings and goings I think from SW of my cockyard perimeter. That was direction it chose when pushed by dog. I may be able to use poultry netting to funnel it.

He was my oldest. I have eight sons to choose from plus what ever I get from a pullet sitting on his final clutch. We were do for a reset anyway. Bird lost eight years old and last obtained directly from brother. The old boy has a considerable legacy to protect where we have five generations of line-breeding to make so those offspring are very much of him. We will also learn a different predator management method that can be used to get bad guys beyond the perimeter. The rabbits are bring the predators in for sure.

That comment is better suited for true backyard people. Like most on this thread I am not by any measure that sort.

No implication towards you or anyone on this thread was meant... that was a tongue in cheek comment on the threads I have been seeing lately...

Sorry for any offense taken...
