People have their ways of doing things. You may be able to get him a lady friend from that guy. Be warned any offspring will hopefully not get along with each other after 5mo or so. If I were you I would research all I could about game chickens cause they take a whole different way of raising and keeping than layer types. See if you really have the time to vest in them before you find yourself in trouble with alot of games and nowhere to house them separately. If you can than great. I don't mean to scare just being real

that's what I like to hear up-front honest people. Thank you for the warning I may get a hen or two more because I would like to have some Broody hens since none of my layers are broody. He's not a very good breeder in the sense that every time I've seen him mount a hin he seems to miss the target don't know if that happens all the time or not LOL I do have one open 8 X 12 Coop that has nobody in it right now but I'm definitely going to do a lot of research. I guess it makes sense as to why he's so nasty and aggressive towards other roosters. He knew which of my chicks were roosters before I knew he would go after them when they were about 3 or 4 months old so I ended up keeping him with my layer hens turns out all the ones he went after turn turned out to be roosters. Maybe that's why the guy has them running free on his range so they don't tear each other up?

birchen hen, don't know exact parentage, but she is has survived free and is a good mum

He has shown no aggression toward any hen ever though, not even the younger chicks except the ones that where cockerels lol. So do u have to separate every one of them or just the cockerels? I'll have my husband talk to him another time...I'm not in any kind of a hurry.

I see what you mean by the looks this is very similar to only difference on this one is mine has the silver on the top of the wing where as this one does not. But they sure look similar. So what is the big difference as far as " what he is by" are thr certain genetics that should or should not be crossed, within a breed?? I know that breeders of any breed spend a lot of time and money into thr birds. If this is something I want to get into( which I'm not even sure yet) I would like to get as much info as I can and u guys seem to be the people to ask :) of course I will also have my husband talk to the guy whr he came from but don't want to bombard him all at once hahaha

What he is from the previous owner may be a better way to word it. To just mess around I guess it doesn't matter but to people that are into games it's important to know. Saying he's something solely on looks is not good practice cause he may be several different things but looks like only one. And yeah we're definitely the best place to get info on this website at least. Alot of people think they know what they are talking about but they really don't and can give some terrible advise just cause they read it or someone told them without having first hand experience with games of any kind.

Oh OK I see what u talking about now ;)sooo other than the..... how do I say this, more known reason for having game. What do u guys in the game industry want, look for and breed for... What is the purpose of having several chickens in your yard that won't get along? Other that the fact that they are just gorgeous. I have seen games at some poultry shows. Are those a different kind of game? Is that what u mean when u say what he is from or by? I obviously really know diddly squat about them haha but I know that the hens are good mommas and the roosters are some of the prettiest birds in the chicken world. I know that some people don't like them or have a bad idea about them. But I can't say a bad thing really about my boy. I'm really interested to find out what he comes from :) oh and im in the phoenix area and I have to say this rooster had no problems with the hell heat of 120°. I lost some of the chicks I had got for my daughter to show...and our layers panted and where stressed despite all my efforts to cool them. I didn't loose any layers but I have the ISA and brown Leghorns and they are lighter breeds. But they where still stressed and he just strutted his beautiful self around and dug holes for his lady's to sit in. It didn't seam to faze him at all. So they bust be tuff as nails.
