hello guys and gals just in hot off the press my lacy round head and hatch hens just hatched there first clutches I have 6 little butcher x round head and 4 grey Albany x hatch babies where hatched on the 15 of Oct and 29 of Oct pics to come

I bought some more eggs I bought some McLean hatch and some pumpkin hulsey eggs from the same guy I got the white kelso eggs from luckily I didn't pay as much for them I won the eggs for a decent price

Just my opinion but until I raised the kelsos and did some culling I wouldn't have bought more eggs from the fella.

If you are wanting more gameness in pumpkins your gonna need to cross they are smart decent shufflers from what I've seen and some have great worthy pumpkins lines but not close to "pure" lines. My "pures" I got are not game enough and the hen lacks type to me. But hoping these with an 1/8th gilmore under a kelso/hulsey will turn out worth while for pumpkins....said pullets show promise. Just like havoc says cull cull cull my wife's not gonna like next year.

If just for looks then they are pretty birds as they are.

I keep all mine In separate pens after I sold a lot of other breeds I had earlier this year I had a lot of empty pens I guess that's why I've take the urge to try to expand the kinds of gamefowl I have by getting eggs from different kinds of gamefowl the main reason I bought the pumpkin eggs is I was planning to buy a pair of grown pumpkin hulseys from a guy locally and then he sold them to another guy before I bought them so I decided to get those

As Promised here are a pic of my broods the Pic of the 4 little ones daddy is in the pic on tie cord

Is purina laying pellets better or nutrena laying pellets in yalls opinion my store only has nutrena and purina poultry feed and I've been trying to decide what's best for my hens and was wondering the pros and cons of each

Purina pellets I have found to be larger, tend to get more unusable powder and stink

Nutrina cheaper, smaller more uniform, no powder and smells better.

All I use is nutrina (country feeds) and my pics speak from themselves.

Are you feeding the nutrena pellets or the crumbles to your hens
