Congrats. That 7 point I saw was no bigger bodied than the 4 pt that’s been hanging around. The 8-10 I saw was much bigger. Hunted every day the past week and haven’t seen either again. Supposed to be raining/windy in the morning but I’ll probably give it another go. It only takes a split second to change things. No a 6pointer but nothing good. Still kicking myself over that old buck.
I hear ya. I’ve been hunting with the longbow and believe me I would have more to show if I had been using the compound. Just limiting my distances. I love to hunt so it’s ok but you gotta keep the voices in your head under control. It can definitely get frustrating.Yeah he wasn't no bigger than that old doe. But I've been three times and let a lot walk and it's a 50min drive from the house I was taken something back.
I’m drawing right at 28” so 55lbs. I’m shooting a 500 grain total arrow weight (200 grain broadhead) so if your good enough as far as you can shoot it accurately. For me that’s about 25 yds absolute max. Feel better at 20 yds and under. I can hit the vitals on a deer target at 30 yds but that target ain’t moving or jumping the string either. Much slower but hard hitting with the heavy head weight. What's the kill zone on your long bow?
