Best way I’ve found is a dremel with cutoff wheel. Goes quick and usually doesn’t bleed at all. Just wear glasses. It does stink a little but not too bad.
 
I think I should see if the fat man in red will bring me one of those portable battery operated dremels. It gets old carrying every single bird back to the shed to cut em. That way I could do them right out in the yard one by one.
 
Understood. This little spangled pullet I received is similar. She is a bit high strung, but is calming down, somewhat. I can't walk in a pick her up as she always seems to be on the look out, but if I pick her up off the roost at dusk, she is just as calm as can be to handle.
