I may not be on for a while so I'll rebuttal centra now. Certain breeds are working or hearding I know and dogs.can.be trained I know BUT dogs are also driven by instinct and the thrill of the Chase so imo having dogs and chickens.together is risky and I have 2 pitts so I do it too.

You can get an egg every day for two to three weeks before broody cycle kicks in, If broody cycle broken promptly then hen can come back into lay in a week or so, The alternating sequence will then result in a seasonal average of an egg every other day. A gamehen sustaining the production of one egg per day will be stressed physiologically since not bred for such performance like Leghorns or other table-egg production breeds. Pushing her too hard may require she be rescued from you.

Well I'm not pushing her at all. I don't even know how to push egg production. Except for a light at night and I don't do that. Is it possible she was backed up? She laid two today.

Kdolly, I'm glad she's doing better! Laying very well too! :)
Mine are all overweight, from the table scraps. I cook rice a lot, so they eat their daily feed plus almost every other day they get rice or them old fashioned lard n milk buiscits. I go fishing when I can, so they eat a lot of fish guts too; either that or a bad fishing day makes me throw the rest of the worms out for them.
My only mature game hen has a messed up hip from some predator pulling her leg out the wire in the pen, and couldn't walk for two weeks, and stayed in the house getting spoiled like an infant. She was the wildest chicken I ever had, but she's now the baby. I let her out while I'm doing yard work, and if something startles her she hops right between my feet. She jumps into the car after me, and will sneak into the house if she can. If I shut the front door while she's out there, she'll holler for over an hour for me to let her in. She's the one in my avatar pic, debating between naming her Jewel or Petunia because she sits at the petunias all the time.

Oh my goodness that's the cutest thing!!! Mine hasn't warmed up that much but she's getting used to the cuddles and loving lol!

Nice way of saying if you want eggs look elsewhere.

Well like I said previously I never expected her to lay. I'm just shocked she's giving me so many eggs. She laid two today. I'm not pushing anything she's just doing it on her own. No extra lighting or anything just the sun.
