Going from -20ish windchill to 43 is quite a jump feels pretty warm to me.

Stuff happens I reckon... it stinks i wish it wouldn't have happen and it can put a damper on things, but I know I've got some good ones eggs coming in soon enough and I'll have a heavy duty pen for them ahead of time.

Are you saying you think the hawk killed the birds through the wire? Did anyone see the hawk in the pen and actively killing the birds? If so that’s a bad hawk. Don’t bother going after it. He will steal your gun and come after you like a spectre gunship.

If a hawk can get your birds through the pen a raccoon will wipe you out one of these days.

I'm not interested in arguing with you havoc. I haven't a clue to exactly what happen can only speculate same as you. From here on out all my breeding birds will be in pens like the above. My domes nothing got into those either so I will continue to use those but without doors as I see fit. That hawk Is not very likely to make a second trip back. What's done is done and no use to worry over something in the past.
