I really shouldn't but... I hate to keep eating them, so I thought this was a better use.

Only one way to prevent that. I tossed both my incubators in the trash and burnt my brooder boxes.
Yeah, I remember that post. I wasn't sure if you were completely serious. lol The girls just seem so early this year. I don't use lights or anything. A few more are getting heavier and combs are getting red like they will start any day now.
 
I am having extreme difficulty not ordering in eggs. Silver Ameraucanas (the only thing I have worth breeding at the moment) aren't laying a thing or I would have the incubator humming by now. Perhaps I need to go outside and hang a hatchet on the wall where they roost?

I am tempted to hatch from my junk Chantecler hens just to give me chicks to mess with but that would be a poorly thought out idea. Not that that's ever stopped me before. :old
