I run the cow corid powder think it's 20% 3 days a teaspoon each day with a gallon of water fresh each day. That is twice as much as recommended but that's how I do it I just do it 3 days instead of a week never had any problems

My friend Brandon also uses Corid, he says it works good.
I use a soluble powder Oxytetracycline(heavy dose) in their water for 3 -9 days, just according to what see with the birds.
I use Oxytetracycline cause it covers a lot more problems that might be underlying coccidia or kicked into the domino effect from coccidia.

Can’t buy that anymore since Jan 2017

I am not sure Oxytetracycline acts on Cocci very well.

Corid (amprolium) seems to be more effective against the cocci bacteria. A vet should be able to write an Rx for it. Oxytetracycline is more of a generalist and may just get you past the infection by taking care of the other issues, as Doubleleft said.

That’s why I feed the medicated starter (amprol). I don’t use water soluble antibiotics anyway.
I’d rather treat the individual bird with injectable meds if needed. Generally though unless it’s a wound if vetrx and Acv can’t fix it a big knife sure can.

I did have a leiper with enteritus or something. I’m not sure. I went out to feed on a sat and he looked like straight sh*t ( fine on fri) still on the roost. I treated him and he was totally fine in 3-4 days. He didn’t look good at all at the time.

On chicks I always use medicated feed and powder corid in water just because it can't hurt. Also new birds get dosed with it as well.
I think if you do both it cancels out. Might look into it. I know I’ve read that somewhere before but it never made sense to me since it’s the same drug just less in the feed.

I don't think so? I've had a group of welsummers get it on medicated feed (not very much in medicated feed if I recall) and then had to use corid and it worked been a few years. So any chick or new bird gets it haven't had an issue since, but you may be right.
