Simple tarp would cover them so an owl wouldnt even see them.

Simple tarp rolls pins in stiff wind. Anchoring pens like you conflicts with my parasite management.

Just make some wooden stakes and drive em in the ground and screw em into the frame it ain't to bad even here at my rocky place.

And move them every couple days? Or hunker down and worm the crap out of everything based on calendar.

It's a bit more work if you are moving them every couple days, but it don't take much to take a drill and unscrew em from the base.

Unfortunately I have a day job. There are differing approaches to managing predator / parasite issues. My system works well here.

We can agree to disagree. The general standard is you provide food, water and shelter from the weather. Your falling short on the shelter regardless of what works best for you.
Birds running loose will sleep in the trees but have the option to hunker under some overhanging branches which provides at least some relief from inclement weather. Penned birds with no roof at all isn’t hardly fair to the them. You put them in there and aren’t providing shelter because it doesn’t jive with your plan. You may want to rethink your management plan. What works for you isn’t the same as what works best for the birds.
