I agree gamefowl are strong inside and outStrong healthy fowl can withstand a lot and come through with shinning colors. My birds look a little droopy when the sun is coming up right now and the mornings are colder, but once they get moving in the morning they perk right up.
Looks like roundwormsThis is my brown red x red quill. I gave him 14drops of Ivermectin aug.11th because he wasnt as active as normal and just seemed a little off. This was 30min later. View attachment 1562707
I went threw and wormed them all sep. 15th due to my half and half having worms and me getting my 2stag 4pullet red quill family. What should I deworm with this time the safeguard? What kind of worm did my half and half have? Roundworm?Well then your birds have worms.
I agree and I try to keep healthy active birds, like I said I have been told different by some and the same as your saying by others so I will get rid of the issue and keep a closer eye on them and act accordinglyIf you read through how much medicine is being used on chickens it’s crazy. Constantly treating sick birds is pretty dumb. You’re not doing yourself any favors. Treating respiratory issues that keep coming back is another stupid idea. I truly believe some people just love playing doctor with their chickens.
That's some good advice for the future but I'm not willing to part with my birds as I know them well and after I correct the issue i have caused will act accordingly with the issueI expect at least some of my birds to carry a worm load now and then. That in itself is not a reason to treat with a de-wormer. What is a problem is where the bird is unable to carry the burden. Birds that become unthrifty easy to spot. They are then culled. If a bird can hide load from me, then all is good.
