You have some pretty good footage of them otters. Years ago otter pelts were worth over $200 when China was importing them. Now they aren’t worth more than about $40 and they’re a pain to skin. Especially the tail.
Have you caught any mink on camera? Since you have raccoons and otters I’m sure there’s a few mink around too.I have hours of footage. They come in multiple times per night. Those select clips put up for farmer so he can argue degree of economic loss.
I think I recorded one mink, fuzzy and brief. When setting up cameras, I expected to see mink as could smell something like them and saw a lot of trails. Farmer indicated he saw no otters so assumption was only mink would be seen and they would be a lot. It has been my experience that mink make themselves scarce when otters abundant. We are not seeing muskrat either which the mink would be after. I do see mink and muskrat sign around culture ponds where fish are small.
