you should try fly tying. It's relaxing once you get the hang of it. I prefer natural fur and feathers but you can do it with al synthetics so nothing has to be hurt in the process. After all there are some great trout streams in CA. After that we'll get you going on duck hunting.

But in seriousness I have never been fresh water fishing. When I was young my Dad and I would take our boat fishing around the Channel Islands a couple time a year. As I got older I started getting sea sick so I dont go as much and need Dramamine.

Never shot an animal in my life. But I wouldn't mind hunting prey animals.. I just wont kill predators.
