Reference not to you, rather the fluff brothers. You appear to be into the games with a broader range of interest which is good, very good. Line-breeding to me not inbreeding in that it does not generally result in the loss or concentration of alleles relative to what is supplied by birds you are breeding back to. The inbreeding part that can be detrimental occurs when line is reset at time the birds being bred back to are removed from the breeding program. Their offspring carried forward may not carry all the alleles you want that were in the original birds bred back to. Over time that results in a need to refresh as that is a mechanism where lost alleles or similar quality alternatives can be introduced. You do employ the inbreeding concept while trying to remove the unwanted alleles that may have come from the original bird mated to the one bred back to.[/quote

... Thanks
I do have that problem with my War Horse both parents are IBD and every now and then a red factor shows up so I assume there are two Alleles on one locus that causes this to crop up every now and then I think this computes to F(A,A)=1/2+F(A)1/2 ... I think lol

You can employ another round of inbreeding (full-sibling mating) to ID carries and non for the allele(s) allowing or promoting the red factor. Look for pairings that produce more or less red. You can also use line breeding to look for young bred back to one of the parents that produce fewer or now offspring with red factor. Then taking a male and female that produced fewer or no red can then be bred to each other to determine if they are doing what you want color-wise. My understanding of Warhorse is they do not throw only black, they just do so most of the time. The all black look is normally only seen a lot when color is a primary concerning when selecting broodfowl.

Carpet will block any fresh air, what if you wrap some wire around the pen she's in with a couple feet of space between them so no others can get close enough to her

I have her in a small round pen I was just going to go a few feet up with something so she can't see any one it was a young stag that got in to it I've never seen a hen that acted like this was just checking her out yesterday she was looking so good and healthy I guess I'll just keep working with her crazy self...

Double Boiler. I do that and for more than just games. Even do it for some fishes.

Also, get that hen several feet away from other birds so she can calm down. When she is finally introduced to a cock (good solid one) do not do the gradual introduction bit. But be on top of her in the event she does go stupid and try to fight too much. I can have very non-game doms cause lots of damage like done to that hen because the birds can only peck at each other through fencing. The normal ques for those idiots do not kick in because neither combatant gets tired or sore anywhere else. Damage like that hen is suffering is due to a container effect / management error.
