Some sort of grey. I think they call the hen on top buttermilk grey (just a reference to her color)... If you dont know the breed, you never will..

The pea comb hen looks good.
the straight comb on the second hen looks like its folded over a bit, which is not desirable (imo).  better pictures would be needed. 

I don't know about that comb bit. U could always dub the hen too.

Almost done with exercise carousel. Need a lid still... And then I need to do some tests.

That wire would have been put to better use building a pen not a playground. Lol

Shubin what kind of nails/screws did you use to attach that red roofing? Did you use the nails with the rubber washer?

I am done building pens for the year and probably for as long as I am on this property. Im maxxed out...

I have a few more ideas for exercise pens...

and I was thinking of some "resort" pens.... basically a big pen that I can let a pair/trio into during the day to get them out of their normal pen, like a vacation once a week.

she is broody but ill try to get a better pic when she comes out to eat. their colors are similar thou

I just used self tapping screws (without drill tip)

Rubber *washers on self drilling screws* is good tho.. thats what my dad used on his tin roof

Dont dub hen lol..

When the hens go broody I can see if they are dehydrated by looking at their comb, especially straight comb hens. They tend to shrivel up and loose color when they are dehydrated.
