Yeah I kind of went cheap with the PCV.. I had it on hand and it slid through the chicken wire with ease and I didn't need to fasten them.. Youre right I should replace with wood.

No sir. Just recently they had a class action lawsuit over that very phrase!! Turns out that red bull really doesn't give you wings

I tried to video / record the woodcock doing their bit. Ghost would be easier. I think they can see the camera's infrared light which makes everything tougher.

2x2 works for me too once they mud it up it's like a real tree branch
