RIR / games don't count ya know
This is the first time I have ever had non-games...
My dad had some adult RIR over 10 years ago...
Never cross bred game to non-game...

I kept 5 RIR from my first RIR hatch.. along with 5 games that hatched the same time... I still have the 5 games but only 1 RIR.. The other 4 went missing.. ??? I think they jumped into my dogs mouth .. Its crazy how different they are, even at a young age. They are not survivors, all they want to do is eat and sleep.

I like artificial. I prefer to keep them in the house as long as I can so I can clean up after them all the time and listen to the never ending peeping. I hear peeping while at work too.
LOL I love having chicks inside also but they like it better outside. The weather here allows though.

Weeks one thru four they go to solitary blocks 1_4 then to the rec yard then to General population but most end up on death row in between

I think he was being sarcastic. lol

I hate chicks inside the house.. .No matter how hard I would try, there was always straw, feed, poo and water everywhere. So I ran an extension cord out to the shed to power the brood lights. So much easier and out of sight from the wife.

I'm sure he was...lol but a well built cage allows a sanitary indoor setup. As a 4th generation cocker I have seen all the mistakes. I know chicks like to scratch among other messy habits. I'm Talking ply, pet glass and suspended floors.
