my bad that hen favors silver duckwing to me. Although I've never ever heard a keeper of gamefowl refer them as that, it is a grey. Kinda like " I sure like Billy ruble black breasted red gamefowl" come on lol

I am not able to discern silver from golden on the hen side. Male side easy to distinguish. Grey covers both. What we called Graveyard Grays were not based on duckwing.

Greys is all I learned growing up. Now it is more fun getting into the technical stuff. I remember colors a given bird had was "just because". Now as color genetics are studied it is cool to find that not everything is known even by the egg-headed folks. That becomes evident when coloration of one sex does not agree or down color is off.

Yeah I respect u for that. I have a question for u that's off topic but if u can answer it in one paragraph I'll greatly appreciate it and move on. Ok, what is the issue with gmo foods. Like what in FACT are the problems. People want non gmo but when asked why " oh it's bad " ok WHY then the deer in the headlights look. I don't feel like hearing people's repetitive it's bad with no proof to back it up. Thanks I'll move on

Some is hype from both sides of issue. Some GMO's enabling less use of costly pesticides (BT producing) or easier use (Roundup Ready). Broader adoption has some negatives. Most seed available at higher price only from a few big breeders. If a a GMO crop fertilizes somebody elses crop, the fertilized crop is then property of the GMO maker. Diversity of production crops thus reduced because modificationa have not been made to all types if seed and those not so treated are being left behind to die out. The added genes are jumping between species making so GMO's effectively infect other species with the gene. The jumping occurs naturally in nature bit normally is not thought of as significant. Many of the compounds produced in the GMO;s occur naturally in some foods but either in lesser amounts or not as ubiquitous. The increased use of some herbicides such as glycophosphate may be nastier on human physiology than previosly indicated. So far the fight over that is shaping up like what occurred with tobaco products where big companies got their narrative across quickly and overwhelmingly but we know how that ended after decades. For now I will be watching the European and WHO for their studies as they are not so pressured by our industry and politics. Currently a couple studies indicate glycophospates are not a innocent as we have generally assumed.

If you are into preserving gamefowl, then your mindset is in many ways similar to that of the anti-GMO folks. My first four years in college where to be a genetic engineer (one that makes GMO's) but that was flat out boring relative to working on the production and environmental management sides of agriculture.

I know you didn't ask me and I am unqualified by a long shot to answer but I will give my opinion anyway. Since it interests me.
GM crops are modified to be resistant to herbicides commonly used throughout. Residues from these herbicides have been found still on some crops. Many of these herbicides are linked to infertility, cancer and birth defects. There are many other thought reasons why it's bad but not many really proven. If it's me and not being a hippy at all I would choose non gmo foods over gmo. Most things humans touch turns to sh*t overnight. I'll keep it as natural as possible if affordable.

Gets what I missed very well.

I don't have a clue what glycophosphates are but I am smart enough to know if you spray some chemical all around apple trees and the grass is dead brown within a 15 ft circumference around the d*mn tree those apples can't be good for you.
