Light patches above eyes typically have spots in them. Some darker colored like yours. Dorsal stripe variable. Chick above was a heterozygous while yours are likely homozygous.

Thanks to google I understand what you said. I sure hope so since they were said to be redquill and shouldn't be anything else in the mix. Just for the record I did know anyway but wanted to be sure. Lol

Redquill cross chicks would be hard to spot without test breeding. Mine when heterozygous could when mated with a regular Hatch-colored wildtype throw Hatch-colored, brown red and "dirty Hatch" offspring.
 
Oh yeah. Those chicks are Eslin red quills. (Supposed to be anyway) straight combs.



Mine have straight combs, all my birds do, but even the redquills were not Eslin Redquills. To my knowledge Eslin Redquill is not even in the background of my birds. Some of the genetics required to make redquills scattered all about in the American Game lines. In mine the alleles needed to make redquill are in low abundance but Eslin almost certainly bred for color for at least a short period of time, or somebody else did with birds out of Eslin stock.
