So j yes I meant those two. He may be black still a miner blue though. From my breedings I believe you will get more splash by breeding two solid blue chickens. I have never read anything on genetics but my on the ground breeding resulted in more splash from solid breeding and more solid from splash breedings. I believe u fancy the splash more, yes?
Below is how blue normally works. I really like the color variations in the miners. I think my favorites are some of the flashy splash males and the males with a deep blue body and some other color of hackle and saddle. But hey, good birds are good birds!

  • Blue X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash
  • Blue X Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black
  • Blue X Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
  • Black X Black = 100% Black
  • Splash X Splash = 100% Splash
  • Splash X Black = 100% Blue

Thanks for the info. With these miners I can confidently say 1,4,&5 do not apply I have not paid enough attention for the others. I don't know why. Wish I did but I don't in a put some pics up I believe you'll enjoy pay attention to the detail of the birds

Looking good. In my experience those charts are only about 50% accurate with the miners.
Don't too much matter to me anyway. I prefer the dark splash if I had to pick.

They were developed from two game breeds, Old English and Malay. They weren't bred to be game, they are exhibiation (show) fowl that have the exaggerated look of a gamefowl. After cockfighting was banned in England.

I had a Modern Cock that died in an accidental fight with another one of my other roosters, when he escaped one day. Both were tore up, but the modern didnt survive. Is that Game? Id say yes he was...

right , so game but not built to be in a fight. they have the will but the flesh is weak, that accurate?

All great looking birds SDM! This male above is excellent! Out of the late batch of chicks, there was one that had a slight tinge of brown on the down at hatching, so I have been watching it. It is a blue stag, and today I noticed some orange pin feathers coming in for the hackle and saddle. I will keep my fingers crossed that he turns out something like the stag above.

ideal if both involved in fight are modern game, not ike that. American game x asil ,the asil would probably win in a dragged out fight , iv seen that happen before accidentally of course
