Dunking heads stopped it quick. The peacomb when cold does not bleed at all straight just oozes a little bit

Bananas are cool plants. We have varieties that will grow up north, but they basically die back to the "roots" every winter. I have some friends in Hawaii that grow them and they have dwarf apple bananas that have a really good flavor and texture. My understanding is that once the plant fruits, it then dies, so to harvest the bananas we just cut the stalk down. It is almost like a corn stalk. A couple of wacks with a machete and you could cut right through about 10 inch stalks filled with water and fiber, but I digress...I got into reading a lot about banana trees I wanted to line my front yard with them and if I read right one 4 foot or so young one when planted only takes 8no to be full grown then in the spring a lot of juveniles pop up out the ground from the roots of the original tree. That's why usually u see a bunch of trees in a small spot like clumps. The original tree dies and it just multiplies each year.
Then I wanted agave but that's not conducive to my weather
Americans range in weight for instance a redquill would be a lot lighter that say a grey. Between what flypen 4.5-6lbs. I don't weigh mine that's strictly a guess
see cause the blues are considered the underdog by a lot of folk. But believe that's fine with me. For any older cocker on here that's been around the block, what y'all think of blues? Watch , anyone?
p.s. I totally expect y'all to say not so good things it won't hurt my feelings just trying to show someone how they're thought of
They are starting to get respect but back in the day (pre 2008) not at all lol
Thanks for sharing Flypen. One of the best crosses I ever made were 1/2 Typewriter blue and 1/2 Marsh Butcher, all the stags came red. They were dayum good in any style show, after the 4th time they were shown all 8 brothers were stolen off my tiecord yard. Someone knew exactly what tiecords to cut, after that ordeal I faded back for awhile lost some of the brood fowl to coyotes, and never regained the Typewriters (Pure). Back when it was legal if you came with anything but reds or greys you weren't considered a threat. There were a few that showed whites, blues, spangles, blacks, but normally they only had one or two good ones. If you were to ever go to a place as big as Sunset Recreational Club most of the people there had very deep pockets, you would never see anything other than reds and greys. They made up the best winning persentige of all American shows even though you know some of them probably had a little off colored blood in them. This is all pre 2008. If you ever read some of the history on the blues the winningest bloodline was the Typewriters, but they never gained the respect they needed to become popular. There is so many blue bloodlines out there now days that have been bred for the Mexican shows you would have a hard to find any better than sdm111's Minors. Facebook has dozens of pages dedicated to gamefowl and sell just about any bloodline there is out there and if you ask for help with anything you'll get information from people that know the answers, lol and some that don't. My breeding has changed a lot, now it's just to keep a few bloodlines alive. I will cross some of them every now and then just to see their abilities, but all my foundation blood stays pure.
