Sorry for the loss. I lose chickens to dogs regularly.
Im not sure if this is an American or not but i do know he was a game cock! I tried to introduce him to the rest of my flock...hoping i could keep them all together since winter will be here soon! Had him and his mother in a seperarte outside cage all by themselves! Well i couldn't...he tried to kill one of my other roosters! That was a couple of days ago! Unfortunately i lost him and his mama last night...my outside dog got loose, ripped thru their cage and ate both of them...not even a drop of blood on the ground! I tried to take the dog to town and get someone to take him yesterday and nowhere was open because of Veterans Day! He ate up my wounded rooster that the game cock had attacked yesterday! He's still alive tho...i rescued him in the nick of time....he may wind up being totally blind tho between the 2 attacks! Poor little guy is one tough cookie! Anyways i was just wondering if the game cock was an American game cock! He was beautiful and i really enjoyed having him for the short time he was here...minus his attack on handsome!
Thats cute. she'll have great broodmama insticts when she gets older.

He is a mix of something. I dont know any pure breeds like look like that. The rose comb makes me think some kind of Spanish game mix. But there is no way of knowing without having history. Looks too compact to be full American Game.
just my opinion. I am no expert.
