Those care pics pulled from the net but what I raised nonetheless. Thanks they are all striking none that I'm aware of are flat colored even the brown hens have a sheen to them. There was a man in ponchatoula la that had acres of birds even silver fox. He had a giant pen with mounds of red clay from dump trucks and the Fox made their dens in it was really cool he would go in there and they would be all over him like puppies. Another man I knew had ornamental waterfowl. Manderins, barred geese stuff like that. He had a pond with an island that he could not go on cause a Canadian gander would attack him. Lol

Yeah, once they start nesting the males are very aggressive. Swans are too, one of my favorite fishing spots got taken away by swans one year. I never went back, it wasn't worth it.

All those pheasants are really cool. Since I have feathers from all of them for tying flies I always thought about getting some. I hear they are a real pain to raise especially the reeves.

They can be some like the coppers and swinehoe will lay an egg then turn around and peck a hole so it won't develop since they are in captivity. Also the males and females need to be kept separate during the year cause they will kill each other. And most just lay a few clutches of a few eggs each in a year. Very short breeding season I don't remember exactly its been a while. Yeah the man with the foxes was a whole other level of raiser/breeder. I think he was connected to the Audubon institute somehow.

that goose was just a loud nasty animal mean sucker. The java green peafowl are nothing to play with either

The emu were fun I had a pair and the man I was in them with had a pair and they are very curious calm ratites. One thing that can't be done is manhandling them just does not work. Their middle toe has a giant nail and they kick forward in defense and can really mess u up. So u get them cornered and when they run past grab for their extremely small wing and swing around and grab the other and then you can just walk them wherever u need them to go. Believe me the first time someone teaches u how and what u gonna do u just know it's not gonna turn out well but it works amazingly well.

I had to wrangle up my peacock last winter cause it was so cold. Before that I had never handled him. He almost knocked me out with his wings. Slapped me silly
