Your color blind cause that egg is white! Hahaha. Cool deal. I've only gotten eggs here and there from this years pullets. Nothing from the hens yet. In due time I suppose. Brownies sound good though

My Mel sims pullet has been laying like a champ. I told my wife I'm gonna pair her up and break out the incubator. I got the look of death!

Just blacks and a few crosses this year that's it. Ain't getting too crazy. Gotta leave time for fishing.

Incubators staying in the shed this year hen hatching only. But all I'm hatching for myself are kelsos.
I will run the incubators but chicks will stay in the shed. No more dust in the house. I can't take it anymore too much clean up.
I figure I'll use hatching bags and the incubators for the crosses. But I'm gonna make sure I got some homes for most of em before I get going. I did move all the birds I was looking to but it took me a little bit longer than I would have liked.

no inside for me either. Bought chicks go home at a day and mine hang with mom till dry then to the above ground cages with a light

Last year putting a paper ream box top with bedding under a light worked good for me

The gamefowl within the pen will tear themselves to pieces trying to get to the bird on the outside. Not all will do it but the good ones will. They may be just fine 364 days but that one day it's a problem and you have a mangled bird that is useless and taking up your time doctoring him up.
Put it this way. If you can have full grown gamecocks penned and full grown roosters running around close to the pens without a problem your gamefowl are useless.
I had guineas for awhile. After a couple years I only had a breeding pair left. The male was fine then one day he started messing with the penned birds. One of them doesn't have any spurs left. It's not worth the aggrivation.
Yeah I think I'll stick to the breeds I normally have. And what about American game bantams? Are they as aggressive as the normal sized ones?
