It's gonna take me awhile. This batch was only 8 eggs. Got 6 chicks 1 egg sh*t the bed at lockdown and still got one alive in the egg but barely pipped, prolly won't make it. I'm assuming 6 outta 8. Got another dozen hatching on Sunday. These are all single mated, reason for the small batches.
 
Hens in single mating coops lay a lot less than the free range ones from what I see.

And if I take a free range hen and coop her, she wont lay for a up to a week sometimes.

the bags do come in handy. I got 3 separate matings of blacks, some come looking exactly the same while some come different. Pictured is a WH X kelso, black, and a ruble.

Yup I agree but free ranging hens here do me no good since all roosters are penned. If you pull the rooster sometimes they'll lay a little more often.
 
I feel claustrophobic just looking at that 
Those bags are actually pretty big and stretchy. I'm just taking pics of the chicks. They move from end to end which is over a foot long easy. They are waiting for me when I get home from work all packaged up lol.
