My wife feels the same way, doesn't stop me. lol She knows not to give me an ultimatum, because she wouldn't like the answer.

If you do get some gamefowl, it would be best to start with pure gamefowl, because adding your non-game crosses would probably dilute their vigo

I made that cross for setting hens with what I had. There is a problem with the neck feathers from the rooster I used that has been passed on to one of the roosters I kept. the feathers on the neck just fuzz out, they start out good but just seem to break down after awhile. Not a problem for making mixed setting hens but not anything I would stand for a pure mating.

Well. I came home to a beat up cock on tie cord. Goats let my butcher hatch roundhead stag loose by turning the latch on chicken tractor. 3 yr old hatch grey cock almost dead dont know if he'll make it head looked like hamburger

Flypen, she looks familiar.  Did we talk about this before?  She looks mottled to me, white tips on the feathers?  If so, she should be mo/mo. Is that male related to her?  If he is not carrying mo, then none of her chicks should show mottling.  If he is carrying mo, then half of her chicks should show mottling.  Or, mate her back to one of her sons which should be carrying mo and then you will get half her chicks that should be mottled.

I don't remember if we talked about her, I am actually breeding back 2 pullets from a mottled hen to a cock that has produced them before.

Then you should be all set! Assuming it is just normal mottling then if they show it they should be mo/mo meaning they have two copies. If the do not show it but throw mottled offspring then they should be mo/-. From you male about have the chicks should be mottled and the other have would carry it if you put him over mottled pullets. Nice looking birds!
