Yes 1/2 sweater 1/2mel-simms raised 2 bought the eggs on eBay and they are very game I am raising hatch/kelso this year and some Redquill.I also bought some eggs from pinnon hatch farm rat graves leiper don't know how if they are any good or not dose any 1 know anything about his Chickens
I started with leiper cock. Dont know if it came from rat graves line tho... Ive heard of them being really good tho. You have them incubating or under hen?

I made attempts to keep Leiper traits in my hatches adn have about 4-5 hens and one rooster that resemble them. not pure at all. same rooster both photos.

Well. I came home to a beat up cock on tie cord. Goats let my butcher hatch roundhead stag loose by turning the latch on chicken tractor. 3 yr old hatch grey cock almost dead dont know if he'll make it head looked like hamburger
dang dude.. sorry to hear that.. I've had it happen as well. Ive had to chop heads off to ease suffering of roosters in similar condition.

Was there a big weight difference between the two? Or was it an equal match?

wasn't equal if one was strapped to the ground

Now my peacock like to hang just outside of range. He eyes them up very cautiously. Trying to make sure it ain't a ruble. They don't let the cord bother them.

seems like one could stay just out of reach and have his day with the other one
And that is the disadvantage. weight of the cord and getting tanlged also would cause problems.
