Got a few hens running the yard with chicks. They have worked it all out so far. Miner hen made the big mistake of pecking one of the leiper pullets chicks. Ha that leiper was relentless. Then a miner pullet that gets a little feisty when u get too close tried to pull that routine with a ruble hen. My wife had to get the ruble off of her lol.

i was told by someone on a different posting that my spangleds may be cockrels and the normal looking one is a pullet. if he is right i will see my luck coming out

My special experiment cross stag 5ways. Im trading this bird for the 3/4 hatch and 1/4 law grey cock I previously posted. The red cock im trading for is a manfighter and guys mother cant gather eggs for him and needs a well natured rooster and mine are easily handled. But this stag spars really well and I'll miss him. But I have his green legged brother and two sisters

Depends on breeder and if came from a proven bloodline or not

no problems with hawks and such?

I haven't had a hawk problem. not so sure if the hawk feels the same way. I've been worrying more about the stupid cats with the real young chicks. I've only seen one eyeing them up. He got pegged in the head with a tennis ball from the deck. Lol next time I see him doing it I'm shooting him.
