18 more hatched
400
What have we here? What are you close to 500 or so?

I've got a miner sitting on a dozen pumpkin eggs, a black sitting on 9 and a penny hatch on 4 or 5 eggs. Plus the leipers I got in the incubator now that I have no idea what day they're on. that should be it for the year.

I have 2 hens that I'll try to hatch every egg from but other than that I'm done with all the other. I'll probably end up with 60% to 70% of the free range ones. I have about half of the ones I've hatched in pens, that's the only way I can control predators. I'm feeding 100lbs a week, about 40 of them are eating black rooster.

You only gonna get some much meat off games more food will only mean more fat. Believe me I eat a lot of my own chickens. The only way it's worth it is cooked down in something to make volume so you can use the whole bird. To just bake a quartered game does not leave much

i like chicken noodle soup and chicken and dumplings, and chicken and rice, so it will make a bigger game bird. that means bigger soup birds that i will be able to look at and say i made that mix

Everybody else is
Just beating around the bush. Your wasting your time and potentially ruining gamefowl. Unless you raise an absolute ton of
Birds the cost of feed to meat ratio isn't worth the effort and that's with birds specifically bred for meat production. Just go by a $5 fully cooked rotisserie bird at the grocery store and save your time and money. Another benefit will be you haven't ruined another family of gamefowl reinventing the wheel despite what others have told you

well i just wanted to try something bu guessi gotta learn dos and donts of chicken breeding. but im trying to make a larger bird, but it grows faster but in like 4 months instead of 2. any ideas?
