I got a hawk hanging around. Sob is gonna cause me problems.
There is a nest of coopers hawk's a 100 yards or so from our property and they do not bother the chickens all summer, but late summer early fall they start cruising the chickens and smaller birds are at risk. I have lots of cover for the chickens, but the hawks will sometimes chase them on the ground.
 
Yes, that's it. To me, it makes the eyes look a little droopy, not nearly as focused and bright as the one SDM showed. Some breeders mention eye color too, like bright red or orange eyes.
I always wondered about that too.. A lot of my fowl have brown eyes.

I notice yellow leg breeds tend to have more red/orange eyes.
 
Lacy pullet and broodpair of Albany suppose to be making their way here this weekend. Sure have filled the red fowl void this year. Now just gotta update roofs

I think it may just be he's wanting another stag. I would assume freeranged would be more used to coexisting with others unlike mine that's all penned
