Thanks, lol. The next one's will be even more fortified. I picked up some 4 x 8 panels with steal frames and woven 1" x 2" grating. They looked perfect for some more pens. Work has gotten in the way of raising chickens this summer, but fall is coming and things will slow down! I have a beautiful stag I need to get a picture of, but his tail is not finished. He has a great personality and is dark blue with very dark red in him that just barely comes through. I imagine next year he will be a sight to see.Well built gmflbrdr. Don't see many that good. Except maybe Lmljsl lol

You're welcome. I wish I had a bird like that to show off. I never gave game fowl much thought until a couple weeks ago when I accidentaly clicked on this thread... I think I might be hooked lolol
Can anyone suggest something to keep hawks away?
We caught our 1st break, the hawk missed! We had some tough lessons that we learned almost immediately, so the chance to scare the hawk away was greatly appreciated.
We let the chickens out of their tractor and coop when we're home, so the dogs won't come kill them. I just don't think we'll be that lucky again. I've seen something about cd'so, fake owls or crows, shiny stuff, fishing line, and yarn. What has worked? I have no desire to hurt it, or nurse it back to health if it gets caught on something.
