Flypen, how are you liking your Typewriters so far this year? Any pics to share of the young stags?

I have 2 young stags, most of the chicks that hatched with hens were lost due to flooding rain or a hawk. I have a few pullets that I really like, to early for the stags.

Coming home to a yard full of crowing roosters is priceless. They don't talk back, and they are excited to see me every time I go out to them.
I would rather spend money on chicken feed and supplies than iced mocha mint, orange, or whatever kinda concoction high dollar fancy coffees any day.

Lol no kidding. I wouldn't raise gamefowl nowadays as a means to make money. Better off collecting aluminum cans.

Really?? Our good friend sells his stags for around $100. I'm sure his Trios go for way more, but he makes a decent dollar off his gamefowl. His operation is huge tho, breeding a whole variety of pure lines. I got my Radio, Grey, and Hatch BCs from him, as well as the hens, I say got because he simply gave them to me knowing I had the space and resources to raise these magnificent birds. Growing up with gamefowl, I jumped at the chance to raise my own, with my Pops ofcourse. Old man has a whole bunch of old school tips and tricks about raising AGF, as I find myself learning something new everyday.

Yes sir, you're definitely right about that. That stag is 5 months old. I left his pen door open so he took advantage of it. The fun part was catching him again. I have a couple Murphys and Greys that are turning out good too

Sorry roosters wont scare off hawks ,if someone has a line of hawk bashing proven hawk slaying roosters id be the first in line to buy one ,maybe a very rare occurrence but ussually roosters run for cover also.

Well crap. The hawk wasn't very big, so I hoped if they were bigger they would try to do something about it.
